State Senator Stanley Rosenberg of Amherst is poised to become the next president of the Massachusetts Senate. The 63 year old Rosenberg, who has been in the state legislature since 1987, announced he had received the overwhelming support of the Democratic caucus on Wednesday to succeed Senate President Therese Murray when her term ends.
