Marquis Dixon, the Albany youth who was sentenced to nine years in an adult maximum security prison for stealing a pair of sneakers when he was 16, is back in trouble with the law.
Dixon was the poster child for the local "Raise the age" movement to update the age of criminal responsibility in New York. His case became a rallying cry for activists, and eventually Dixon’s sentence was reversed.

The Albany Times Union reports that Dixon, now 19, was arrested by city police early Saturday for allegedly threatening to kill his mother with a steak knife inside their South End home.
Dixon is charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon and misdemeanor menacing.
