Irving Berlin’s White Christmas is a timeless tale of joy and goodwill which will be opening December 2 at the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield. We get a preview of the Berkshire Theatre Group production this morning. Full of dancing, laughter and some of the greatest songs ever written, the dazzling score features, “Blue Skies,” “Count Your Blessings,” “I Love a Piano,” “How Deep is the Ocean?” and of course the unforgettable title song, “White Christmas.” To tell us more, we welcome the four lead actors from the show, Mike Wartella, Michael Starr, and Claire and Alanna Saunders.

Jazzy day sweeping the clouds away: Joe Fiedler brings Open Sesame to The Linda

Open Sesame merges the two worlds of Joe Fiedler, those being: music director for "Sesame Street" for the past twelve seasons and an internationally recognized jazz trombonist, by presenting his unique and slightly edgy arrangements of Sesame Street classics. In support of their new release, "Fuzzy and Blue," the band showcases a working quartet of seasoned New York improvisers. On November 21st at 3PM, Fielder will perform with the band and also present an inside multi-media look with Q&A of just how the musical direction for the beloved children’s educational program comes together.

Creative License presents regional premiere of "Significant Other" by Joshua Harmon at Cohoes Musical Hall

The Creative License Theater Collective has made their debut for their new residency at the historic Cohoes Music Hall with the regional premiere of the hit Broadway romantic-comedy "Significant Other" by Joshua Harmon. The show runs through Sunday November 21st. Creative License founders Aaron Holbritter and Casey Polomaine serve as co-directors for the production.

Saratoga Arts presents a concert of work by minimalist composer and multi-instrumentalist Gary Schall

This weekend, Saratoga Arts presents a concert of works by multi-Instrumentalist/Composer Gary Schall written for piano, voice and marimba. The work is entitled "Memory of an Own: Variations on Steve Reich Themes In Memory of James Preiss." The music marks the 58th anniversary of the JFK assassination with original modern-minimalist music and a multimedia video montage of the JFK funeral created by Schall in collaboration with Skidmore Digital Media Department.

Acclaimed playwright Mark St. Germain joins us to discuss his new memoir, "Walking Evil: How Man’s Best Friend Became Man’s Worst Enemy." Great Barrington Public Theatre will present St. Germain and actor friends Donna Bullock, Peggy Pharr Wilson and Jim Frangione reading excerpts of the book at St. James Place in Great Barrington, Massachusetts on Sunday, November 28 at 2 p.m.
